Architect Richmond
We are delighted to share one of our recent approved extensions in Richmond, a modern side extension for a semi-detached property in Richmond. The property is located on the River Crane, near the junction of Gordon Avenue and Ailsa Avenue, in an area with predominantly semi-detached dwellings.
The client wanted to utilise the space to the side of the property to create a dedicated utility space and a downstairs WC. These additions would greatly enhance the functionality and comfort of the existing living space, as well as adding value to the property.
We designed the extension to be finished with zinc cladding, to create a contrast with the existing brickwork and to match the colour of the existing dormer. The brickwork was used at low level in areas that would not be visible from the front of the property or the rear garden, to minimise the visual impact and maintain the character of the neighbourhood.
The extension was positioned towards the rear end of the side of the property, so that it would have minimal impact on the street view and the natural light entering the main living area. The extension also features large windows and skylights, to maximise the natural light and ventilation in the new spaces.
The result is a sleek and modern side extension that blends seamlessly with the existing property and provides additional functionality and convenience for the client. We are delighted with how this project turned out, and we hope you like it too.
